Pink Lip Gloss for ';African American'; Lips?

Okay, I'm on a budget *always have been* and I've been experimenting with the natural look rather than having a dramatic date night make-up look going on...





I'm black and have a ';caramel'; complexion and want to do a minimal make-up look on my face to accent an eggplant purple dress with some hot silver shoes I will be wearing one of these nights.





Does anyone know of a nice pink TINTed lip gloss that won't have me looking as if I have shiny-ashy lips? My goal is to have a soft pink but still a little sheer to compliment my complexion. Do you think the natural look with an eggplant purple dress and silver shoes won't cut it--or what?





The dilemma is... I love MAC cosmetics, NARS, Christian Dior and all those funky long-lasting expensive make up brands but I'm limited to stores like Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, etcetera to find something inexpensive for now...

If you like the natural look, try just using the clear gloss. The clear has a sexy look to it but it's a good idea to use a lip liner. Use either one that is the natural color of your natural lip line, or use clear or pink lip liner. The liner will hold the gloss in place, keeping the gloss from running when it warms up on your lips. The colored liner will give the gloss a slight tint.





I have priced lip glosses. I find the less expensive ones are too gooey. While the pricier ones glide on more smoothly.





If you really want to be really frugal, get a small pot of Vaseline but the gloss has a different texture and you may find that it works better for you.





One day at work, a pretty girl asked me what color gloss I was wearing. When I told her that it was clear, she became jealous because she said she had been trying to find the color gloss that I had been wearing.

My favourite lipgloss is bourjois effet 3D, it looks really sophisticated. But if you don't want shiny lips I think you'd be better of with wearing a little bit of pink lipstick.
